Why listen to guided relaxation scripts?

Guided Relaxation is simply listening to an instructor who will talk you through what to do or what to think about in order to achieve a relaxed state. We aim for deep relaxation and when this is achieved, the magic can really begin.

Once in a state of deep relaxation, you sub-conscious mind can essentially be reprogrammed and all the negative stuff can be replaced with positive. This is also called self-hypnosis. This needs to be repeated every day, your brain likes familiarity as it feels safe with the known.

How do I do this?

This is a technique I learnt as a Relaxation Coach and Hypnobirthing Instructor. I use an app on my phone called The Insight Timer and it is full of relaxations and meditations for you to follow. However, before you begin, I would recommend that you build this in to your bedtime routine and listen to them in bed. However, as long as you aren’t driving or operating machinery, you can pretty much do it anywhere.

All my classes end with a beautiful, long guided relaxation read by me. I invite you to get comfortable, with a blanket, perhaps in bed, with your favourite calming pillow spray and be prepared to nod off!
