Journaling…emptying the mind to relax the body

Why use journaling?

The beautiful thing about journaling is that there is no right or wrong way to do it. It is for your eyes only and therefore doesn’t need to be read or understood by anyone but you. There are an array of ways to do it, all you need to do is choose which one you want to do and put pen to paper.

You can journal about your day in story form, bullet point your thoughts, write words about how you feel (brain dump), draw pictures instead of explaining in words, a gratitude diary of what great things happened today or use a journal to reflect and set goals…

Prompts to help you start…

Self-discovery:

  • What advice would you give to your younger self?

  • What are your biggest achievements?

  • 3 things that you are proud of yourself for?

Healing:

  • Write about an experience that has made you stronger?

  • What excites you the most when thinking about the future?

  • Write 3 bits of encouragement to yourself, as if you were talking to someone else.

Self-love:

  • List 5 physical things you love about yourself.

  • What do other people admire about you?

  • Write 10 positive words that best describe you.
